Honest verdict on Janssons Frestelse — good but not exceptional

Janssons Frestelse here was solidly made — cream-enriched and comforting without anything to complain about. gravlax cured salmon was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Swedish fika culture elevates the coffee break with pastries into a social institution. The a Noma-influenced Nordic restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. Swedish punsch was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Janssons Frestelse this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
