First time trying Massaman Curry — completely converted

I had never tried Massaman Curry before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The bright and lively taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. Thai basil is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Bangkok street stall setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. fresh herbs and aromatics are added at the last moment to preserve fragrance. My server recommended Singha beer alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Massaman Curry. Outstanding first encounter.
