First time trying Pad Thai — completely converted
I had never tried Pad Thai before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The balanced between sweet, sour, salty, and spicy taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. kaffir lime leaves is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a family restaurant setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Thai cooking philosophy balances four key flavour profiles in every dish. My server recommended nam manao lime soda alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Pad Thai. Outstanding first encounter.
