Honest verdict on Kapusniak — good but not exceptional

Kapusniak here was solidly made — rich and warming without anything to complain about. sour cream was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Ukrainian cuisine reflects centuries of agricultural abundance. The a traditional Ukrainian home kitchen atmosphere was pleasant enough. kvass was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Kapusniak this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
