Honest verdict on Pampushky — good but not exceptional

Pampushky here was solidly made — rich and warming without anything to complain about. pork fat was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

many dishes are tied to Orthodox religious calendar. The a family Sunday lunch atmosphere was pleasant enough. smetana was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Pampushky this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
