Best Tequeños I've had — and I've tried a few
Having eaten Tequeños at several restaurants over the past year, I can say this version is the best. The tropical and vibrant quality is more pronounced here than anywhere else I've tried. papelón brown sugar is handled with real knowledge — you can taste the difference.
This is proper a Colombian-Venezuelan border town restaurant cooking, not an adaptation for foreign tastes. Malta dark malt drink was the obvious choice and the combination was perfect. hallacas Christmas preparation is a multi-day family tradition where the whole extended family participates. Would return for this dish alone.
