Decent Cha Gio — nothing more, nothing less

Cha Gio at this place was fine. The subtly sweet and spiced flavour was there but not distinguished. star anise broth was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

fresh herbs added at the table are a defining characteristic. The a home cooking class setting was generic rather than immersive. Vietnamese iced coffee was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Cha Gio it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
