First time trying Com Tam — completely converted

I had never tried Com Tam before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The fresh with citrus and mint taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. lemongrass is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a home cooking class setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Vietnamese cuisine shows French colonial influence alongside traditional Southeast Asian techniques. My server recommended Vietnamese iced coffee alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Com Tam. Outstanding first encounter.
