The unexpected joy of growing Tillandsia Bulbosa

I planted Tillandsia Bulbosa without expecting much and it's become one of the most satisfying things in my garden. extraordinary architectural forms from spiralling to globe-shaped is something I couldn't have predicted from looking at it in a nursery. You only understand it once the plant is established and performing.

I keep it in a wire frame or macrame hanging display which is perfect for it. shaking off excess water after soaking to prevent rot at the base was the thing I got lucky getting right early. flowering triggered by lengthening days in spring or summer stopped me in my tracks the first time I saw it. bleaching and burning from direct summer sun is a real thing — just check regularly and deal with it quickly.
