I brought Tillandsia Capitata home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding providing bright indirect light or outdoor shade in summer — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a glass globe or terrarium with open ventilation and the position has been ideal. extraordinary architectural forms from spiralling to globe-shaped is what keeps drawing me back to it. flowering triggered by lengthening days in spring or summer was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: base rot from water not drying within four hours of soaking caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
