I've been growing plants seriously for over fifteen years and Tillandsia Capitata remains a reliable favourite. For anyone starting out: the most critical thing is misting more frequently in hot dry indoor conditions. Everything else follows from that.

base rot from water not drying within four hours of soaking is the challenge that trips up most beginners and some experienced growers too. I've been growing mine in grouped together in a bowl as a centrepiece for three seasons now and the results are consistently good. surprisingly tough once watering rhythm is established is what makes it worth coming back to year after year. pup production after flowering creating a new clump is when I show it off — it earns its place fully then.
