The propagation success I didn't expect with Water Lily

I started with one Water Lily and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand planting in aquatic baskets with specialist pond compost — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.

I display them in a natural wildlife pond with naturalistic marginal planting which shows off cooling visual effect and microclimate benefit in summer at its best. overwintering dormancy in the pond bed is when they're most impressive. frost damage on tender varieties left in shallow water has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
