Container growing Fargesia Bamboo — a practical guide from experience

I don't have a garden so a focal point specimen in a large container is my only option for Fargesia Bamboo. It absolutely works — with the right attention to feeding with a high-nitrogen fertiliser in early spring you can get excellent results in containers.

exceptional tensile strength in the cane structure is fully achievable even in a pot. new shoot emergence in spring growing at remarkable speed is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: new canes not reaching full height in the first year. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
