Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Golden Bamboo:

Spring: cane hardening and leafing out through summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on watering heavily in the first season to establish the root system during this period which set up the rest of the year.

beautiful sound of canes moving in wind developed steadily through the warmer months. yellowing leaves from drought or nitrogen deficiency appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a privacy screen along a boundary fence performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
