Three things I wish someone had told me before growing Chinese Elm Bonsai
After growing Chinese Elm Bonsai for over a year here is what I'd tell a beginner.
First: watering daily in summer as bonsai pots dry out fast is not optional — it's the foundation everything else depends on. Second: over-wiring causing wire bite scarring on branches will happen and you should know how to handle it before it does. Third: a Japanese-inspired garden display with gravel and stone genuinely matters — the right position unlocks living art form that reflects decades of patient cultivation in a way a poor position never will. repotting temperate species in early spring before buds break is the payoff for getting all of this right. It's worth every bit of effort.
