Honest review: Chinese Elm Bonsai is rewarding but over-wiring causing wire bite scarring on branches is real

Chinese Elm Bonsai is a genuinely satisfying plant to grow, but I want to be upfront about one thing: over-wiring causing wire bite scarring on branches. I've dealt with it twice now and it takes consistent attention to manage.

Beyond that, living art form that reflects decades of patient cultivation makes it one of my favourites in the collection. I keep it in a dedicated display stand at eye level for appreciation which suits it well. Learning about wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible has been essential. repotting temperate species in early spring before buds break is worth waiting for — the plant really justifies itself then. Four stars because of that persistent issue.
