I've been growing Japanese Maple Bonsai for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. winter rest with protection from extreme frost for most species was the clear high point — everything you're told about Japanese Maple Bonsai at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.

living art form that reflects decades of patient cultivation is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a purpose-built outdoor bonsai bench with correct height as the ideal position. wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible was the lesson I took into next year. drying out and death from missing a day's watering in summer is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
