I don't have a garden so a dedicated display stand at eye level for appreciation is my only option for Juniper Bonsai. It absolutely works — with the right attention to wiring branches during the growing season while wood is flexible you can get excellent results in containers.

miniaturisation of full-grown tree characteristics is fully achievable even in a pot. autumn colour on deciduous species before leaf fall is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: spider mite and scale in stressful growing conditions. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
