Gift that became an obsession — Pine Bonsai

Someone gave me Pine Bonsai as a birthday gift and I barely knew what it was. Two years later it's my most treasured plant and I've spent more time researching it than I'd care to admit.

The key discovery was styling with the front and viewing angle in mind from day one — once that clicked, the plant transformed. seasonal change including blossom, foliage colour, and bare winter silhouette is what gets mentioned every time anyone visits. I keep it in a seasonal rotation on display when looking its best which works perfectly. repotting temperate species in early spring before buds break is when I understand why this plant has such devoted followers. drying out and death from missing a day's watering in summer is the one ongoing challenge but it's worth the effort.
