Slow start but a stunning finish with Wisteria Bonsai
The first few months with Wisteria Bonsai were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting repotting every two to three years with root pruning right was the turning point.
living art form that reflects decades of patient cultivation became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a purpose-built outdoor bonsai bench with correct height it gets the attention it deserves. winter rest with protection from extreme frost for most species was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: drying out and death from missing a day's watering in summer. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
