Slow start but a stunning finish with Allium
The first few months with Allium were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting leaving foliage to die back naturally after flowering right was the turning point.
increasing clump size year on year when well established became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a container for a doorstep or patio display it gets the attention it deserves. peak spring bulb display from tulips and daffodils was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: blindness with no flowers produced from weak or immature bulbs. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
