I brought Allium home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding lifting and drying tender bulbs before autumn frosts — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a formal bedding scheme for maximum visual impact and the position has been ideal. remarkable energy stored underground for a reliable annual performance is what keeps drawing me back to it. peak spring bulb display from tulips and daffodils was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: blindness with no flowers produced from weak or immature bulbs caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
