Container growing Camassia — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a container for a doorstep or patio display is my only option for Camassia. It absolutely works — with the right attention to lifting and drying tender bulbs before autumn frosts you can get excellent results in containers.
some of the earliest colour in the garden after winter is fully achievable even in a pot. earliest crocuses and snowdrops emerging in late winter is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: narcissus fly larvae tunnelling into the base of the bulb. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
