Slow start but a stunning finish with Crocus

The first few months with Crocus were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting lifting and drying tender bulbs before autumn frosts right was the turning point.

increasing clump size year on year when well established became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a container for a doorstep or patio display it gets the attention it deserves. peak spring bulb display from tulips and daffodils was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: narcissus fly larvae tunnelling into the base of the bulb. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
