Container growing Christmas Cactus — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a grouped desert landscape display is my only option for Christmas Cactus. It absolutely works — with the right attention to using pure mineral grit for drainage in the soil mix you can get excellent results in containers.
architectural sculptural form that needs no flowers to impress is fully achievable even in a pot. offsetting and pup production in spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: root rot from any waterlogging in winter. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
