Slow start but a stunning finish with Prickly Pear
The first few months with Prickly Pear were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting providing the sunniest window or outdoor position available right was the turning point.
spectacular but brief blooms that can appear overnight became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a south-facing windowsill in full sun it gets the attention it deserves. rapid growth during the warm summer months was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: spider mites in warm dry indoor conditions. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
