I planted Saguaro without expecting much and it's become one of the most satisfying things in my garden. spectacular but brief blooms that can appear overnight is something I couldn't have predicted from looking at it in a nursery. You only understand it once the plant is established and performing.

I keep it in a grouped desert landscape display which is perfect for it. using pure mineral grit for drainage in the soil mix was the thing I got lucky getting right early. complete dormancy in winter with no watering stopped me in my tracks the first time I saw it. scarring from cold water splash on the skin is a real thing — just check regularly and deal with it quickly.
