Beginner success with Maidenhair Fern — here is what helped

As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Maidenhair Fern. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to positioning in shade or dappled light away from direct sun.

I grow mine in a hanging basket in a cool bathroom which is working really well. prehistoric elegance with delicate layered fronds was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. spectacular new crozier unfurling in spring has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring frond browning and crisp tips in dry air, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
