I've been growing Staghorn Fern for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. early emergence from the soil before most other plants in spring was the clear high point — everything you're told about Staghorn Fern at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.

dramatic unfurling fiddle-head growth in spring is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a humid conservatory in a decorative pot as the ideal position. positioning in shade or dappled light away from direct sun was the lesson I took into next year. crown death from frost on tender varieties is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
