I brought Mango Tree home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a large half-barrel container on a sunny patio and the position has been ideal. harvest of home-grown fruit with exceptional fresh flavour is what keeps drawing me back to it. winter pruning while the tree is dormant was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: biennial bearing producing a heavy crop every other year caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
