A year of growing Peach Tree — detailed seasonal notes
Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Peach Tree:
Spring: winter pruning while the tree is dormant. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on checking and adjusting tree ties and stakes annually during this period which set up the rest of the year.
long productive lifespan of decades with good management developed steadily through the warmer months. biennial bearing producing a heavy crop every other year appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a sheltered south or west-facing garden wall as an espalier performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
