Slow start but a stunning finish with Peach Tree
The first few months with Peach Tree were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting thinning fruitlets in early summer to improve individual fruit size right was the turning point.
dual ornamental and productive value in a garden became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a sheltered south or west-facing garden wall as an espalier it gets the attention it deserves. fruitlet setting and development through summer was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: fireblight bacterial disease affecting pears and apples. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
