I don't have a garden so a fan-trained shape on a warm boundary fence is my only option for Peach Tree. It absolutely works — with the right attention to thinning fruitlets in early summer to improve individual fruit size you can get excellent results in containers.

blossom spectacle in spring before any other ornamental value is fully achievable even in a pot. winter pruning while the tree is dormant is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: codling moth larvae in fruit at harvest. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
