The propagation success I didn't expect with Oregano
I started with one Oregano and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand planting in free-draining soil in the sunniest spot — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in an ornamental potager kitchen garden which shows off dual purpose as ornamental plant and culinary ingredient at its best. sowing and planting out after last frost in spring is when they're most impressive. root rot from overwatering in poorly drained pots has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
