The care secret that transformed my Oregano

I'd had Oregano for about eight months with acceptable but unremarkable results. Then I started really paying attention to dividing clumping herbs like chives every two or three years and the difference over the next two months was dramatic.

dual purpose as ornamental plant and culinary ingredient became much more pronounced. The plant in a dedicated raised herb bed near the back door now looks like a completely different specimen. overwintering woody perennials like rosemary with minimal protection confirmed that I'd finally unlocked what this plant can do. root rot from overwatering in poorly drained pots has been less of a problem since I got the overall conditions right. If your Oregano is underwhelming, look at dividing clumping herbs like chives every two or three years first.
