Honest review: Oregano is rewarding but root rot from overwatering in poorly drained pots is real

Oregano is a genuinely satisfying plant to grow, but I want to be upfront about one thing: root rot from overwatering in poorly drained pots. I've dealt with it twice now and it takes consistent attention to manage.

Beyond that, fast growing from seed or small plug plant makes it one of my favourites in the collection. I keep it in an ornamental potager kitchen garden which suits it well. Learning about harvesting regularly to prevent plants going to seed has been essential. drying or freezing surplus growth in late summer is worth waiting for — the plant really justifies itself then. Four stars because of that persistent issue.
