Container growing Sage — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a dedicated raised herb bed near the back door is my only option for Sage. It absolutely works — with the right attention to planting in free-draining soil in the sunniest spot you can get excellent results in containers.
dual purpose as ornamental plant and culinary ingredient is fully achievable even in a pot. peak harvest productivity through summer is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: powdery mildew on basil in cool damp conditions. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
