Honest review: Peace Lily is rewarding but overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot is real
Peace Lily is a genuinely satisfying plant to grow, but I want to be upfront about one thing: overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot. I've dealt with it twice now and it takes consistent attention to manage.
Beyond that, year-round green presence improving mood and productivity makes it one of my favourites in the collection. I keep it in an office desk with a grow light supplement which suits it well. Learning about checking soil moisture before watering rather than watering on a fixed schedule has been essential. slowing down in autumn as light levels drop is worth waiting for — the plant really justifies itself then. Four stars because of that persistent issue.
