Overrated for ease, underrated for beauty — Snake Plant

People describe Snake Plant as easy and I'd push back on that slightly. repotting only when roots are visibly emerging from the drainage holes needs consistent attention and fungus gnats in consistently damp potting compost can undermine progress quickly if ignored.

Where Snake Plant is genuinely underrated is the beauty. straightforward propagation by division, cuttings, or offsets is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a plant shelf or bookcase as a green interior feature and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. slowing down in autumn as light levels drop is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
