Overrated for ease, underrated for beauty — ZZ Plant
People describe ZZ Plant as easy and I'd push back on that slightly. rotating pots a quarter turn each week for even growth needs consistent attention and overwatering causing yellowing leaves and root rot can undermine progress quickly if ignored.
Where ZZ Plant is genuinely underrated is the beauty. straightforward propagation by division, cuttings, or offsets is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a plant shelf or bookcase as a green interior feature and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. minimal watering and no feeding through winter is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
