Beginner success with ZZ Plant — here is what helped

As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with ZZ Plant. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to wiping dusty leaves with a damp cloth to improve light absorption.

I grow mine in a bright indirect windowsill away from heating vents which is working really well. wide range of forms, textures, and light requirements was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. minimal watering and no feeding through winter has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring brown leaf tips from low humidity or fluoride in tap water, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
