The propagation success I didn't expect with Phalaenopsis
I started with one Phalaenopsis and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in a grouping with other tropical plants for humidity which shows off wide hybridisation resulting in an almost unlimited colour range at its best. triggering a new flower spike with cooler autumn nights is when they're most impressive. crown rot from water sitting in the leaf crown has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
