The first few months with Vanda were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting repotting into fresh bark medium every two or three years right was the turning point.

pseudobulbs that store water and nutrients became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a bright bathroom with natural humidity it gets the attention it deserves. rest period in summer with focus on leaf and root growth was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: crown rot from water sitting in the leaf crown. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
