Pest battle with Majesty Palm — and how I won

I had a serious problem with root bound decline in pots left too long without repotting on my Majesty Palm earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.

Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate remarkable toughness once properly established, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a large decorative pot as a patio centrepiece and improved my attention to avoiding cutting healthy green fronds as this stresses the plant. best planting and repotting in late spring as soil warms was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
