Container growing Pygmy Date Palm — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a sheltered sunny courtyard or walled garden is my only option for Pygmy Date Palm. It absolutely works — with the right attention to avoiding cutting healthy green fronds as this stresses the plant you can get excellent results in containers.
long-lived structure that becomes more impressive over decades is fully achievable even in a pot. fastest growth during the warmest summer months is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: crown damage and death in severe or prolonged frost. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
