Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Black Baccara:

Spring: first flush of blooms in late spring. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on deep watering at the base rather than overhead during this period which set up the rest of the year.

repeat-flowering over a long season developed steadily through the warmer months. black spot fungal disease on the leaves appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in a large terracotta pot on a sunny patio performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
