exceptional fragrance on warm afternoons became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a cottage garden mixed planting with lavender it gets the attention it deserves. bare canes in winter showing the plant's architecture was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: black spot fungal disease on the leaves. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
