The first few months with New Dawn were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting deadheading spent blooms to encourage reblooming right was the turning point.

exceptional fragrance on warm afternoons became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a cottage garden mixed planting with lavender it gets the attention it deserves. first flush of blooms in late spring was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: aphid infestations on new growth. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
