Beginner success with Peace — here is what helped

As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Peace. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to pruning to an outward-facing bud at a 45-degree angle.

I grow mine in a cottage garden mixed planting with lavender which is working really well. repeat-flowering over a long season was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. peak flowering through midsummer has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring rose dieback from hard winter frosts, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
