Beginner success with Queen Elizabeth — here is what helped
As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Queen Elizabeth. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to deep watering at the base rather than overhead.
I grow mine in a sunny south-facing garden border which is working really well. strong disease-resistant root stock was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. hips forming in autumn for wildlife interest has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring rose dieback from hard winter frosts, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
